Crucial 256Gb C300 RealSSD SSD W7 64-bit Startup Times vs. Samsung 7200RPM HDD w/ 16Mb Cache

Crucial 256Gb C300 RealSSD SSD W7 64-bit Startup Times vs. Samsung 7200RPM HDD w/ 16Mb Cache Video Clips. Duration : 9.93 Mins.

Ok guys. Here is the Crucial 256Gb C300 SSD in action. I do two comparisons with my old Samsung 7200RPM 16Mb Cache HDD. The first is to compare Windows startup times from hitting the power button to the desktop showing up. The second test is where I compare the ATTO benchmark results of the two drives. I am not entirely conviced that the SSD was worth the 0 I spent for it. The startup times seem pitiful as compared to what I've seen the drive do in some laptops. I can't imagine my computer having some kind of startup issue, but if anyone has an idea or a suggestion please comment below. The ATTO benchmark is a lot better then what I had with the Samsung, but how will that translate into real world performance? I was really expecting more from this purchase. Everyone talks about upgrading to an SSD is the single best performance boost that one can do for their computers. Again, I am not convinced... Well, enjoy the video and let me know if something sticks out in your mind as to something I could be doing wrong. Thanks for watching!

iMac SSD Disk Upgrade : Laptop Solid State to 3.5" Drive Conversion With SATA Adapter Case

iMac SSD Disk Upgrade : Laptop Solid State to 3.5" Drive Conversion With SATA Adapter Case Tube. Duration : 6.88 Mins.

mac-ssd-drives.com - An aging G5 Apple iMac gets a speed bump by installing a 2.5" laptop size SATA II SSD into a 3.5" full size case for use in desktop computers like the iMac and Mac Pro towers. It should be noted most Macs - especially _consumer_ Macs prior to 2008 - only have SATA I speed controller chips. This isn't a big technical issue because SATA II spec is backwards compatible. But in older Apple laptop and desktop systems - you don't necessarily need to buy the most expensive, fastest SSD drive: Midrange SSD's tend to match SATA I interface speeds quite well.

0 Best Buy Doorbuster Laptop Review - ASUS X401A-BHPDN Video Clips. Duration : 15.13 Mins.

This is a review of the "Doorbuster" laptop from best buy on black friday 2012. Asus Model X401A. X401A-BHPDN39 to be exact. Which on support.asus.com for bios and such it is considered the X401A1. For the price and specs I think its a great option. Note: There do seem to be some significant differences in the hardware other then it comes with windows 8. This laptop uses UEFI and not a BIOS, so booting other devices and upgrading drives will be significantly diferent from the X401A-RBL4 with this X401A-BHPDN model. When removing the upper shell, I found the best bet was to start where the battery goes. (Should be removed anyway) To remove the motherboard, remove the hard drive, and the usb / power pcb, then the rest of the screws holding the motherboard on to the frame and the two holding the heatsink to the frame. I would get this for the ram, 8 GB www.newegg.com And this SSD www.newegg.com These two items will net you good laptop for around 0. Here is a video of me plasti dipping the laptop. Great Cheap non permanent way to change the color and protect your laptop. youtu.be Currently Best Buy has a laptop pretty close to the same but with a slower processor for 9. Asus - 14" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 320GB Hard Drive Model: X401A-HCL122I SKU: 6999323 It has a 1.8ghz cpu instead of the 2.4ghz Intel B980 in this review.

MCTS 70-680: Dynamic Disks and Raid

Thursday, February 14, 2013

MCTS 70-680: Dynamic Disks and Raid Tube. Duration : 14.97 Mins.

Windows allows you to configure your hard disk to be either a basic or a dynamic disk. Basic disks offer more compatibility, being able to be used in any version of Windows and non-Windows based systems. Dynamic disks allow more features like RAID but limit the use of the hard disk to Windows based systems. Dynamic disk demo at 08:35 Partitions A partition is an area of the hard disk that has been defined for later use. When multiple operating systems are on the same hard disk, you will want to keep the operating systems separate from each other. You can do this by storing each operating system in a different partition on the same hard disk. Volumes Once a partition has been created a volume can be assigned to that partition, for example, the c drive. Software like disk manager automatically creates these partitions for you when you create a volume. A volume can also span multiple disks. For example, a volume may contain all the free space from multiple disks. This volume will appear in Windows Explorer as one drive letter; however, the data is spread out over multiple hard drives. Think of a volume as one logical, accessible storage area stored on one or more drives. Basic disks A basic disk in Windows has very few features but will work in all Windows operating systems including alterative operating systems. Volumes on basic disks can only use the one partition. The size of the partition on a basic disk can be resized assuming there is free space up to where you want to ...

How to setup RAID on Mac 2012

How to setup RAID on Mac 2012 Tube. Duration : 3.90 Mins.

In this video I show you how to setup a RAID-0 (stripped) or RAID-1 (mirrored) configuration. RAID is a more advanced user setup. Typically users use RAID-0 for more performance and RAID-1 for reliability. Mirrored means the hard drives are complete copy of themselves that we if one goes there is a complete copy of the contents. With RAID-0 or stripped you can maximize your performance. RAID-0 is my preferable configuration because it is fast and doubles storage. It is fast because it rights half of a file to one drive and half to the other therefore maximizing the performance of the two drives. i4Siri Info: i4siri.com Jailbreak A5 Devices ios4life.com Save SHSH files: www.youtube.com Follow Me: twitter.com Like on Facebook: www.facebook.com Follow iOS4Life: twitter.com Check out iOS4Life: ios4life.com .99 Unlimited Cpanel Hosting-http

Transcend USB 3.0 Products Video Clips. Duration : 1.28 Mins.

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is one of the most popular connection interfaces used in today's computers and consumer electronics. It is intended to replace varieties of serial and parallel ports. Cell phones, digital cameras, and external hard drives all use USB as the main transmission interface when connected to other devices and computers. Other advantages include an efficient power supply and plug-and-play and hot swapping abilities. Unparalleled Transfer Speeds Expected to revolutionize data transfers, USB 3.0 achieves a maximum data rate of up to 5.0Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0. Thanks to a significant increase in bandwidth, the new SuperSpeed USB not only offers faster transfer speeds but also allows bandwidth-hungry peripherals, like external hard drives and solid state drives (SSD), to reach their peak performance. Strong and Reliable Power Supply The ubiquitous USB port makes it possible to charge peripherals directly from the PC. With double the energy output capability, more power-hungry devices can be bus-powered, and battery-powered devices can charge more quickly. USB 3.0 also offers extra-reliable current output, which helps you prevent the risk of losing valuable data. Perfect Backwards Compatibility The main reason for USB's popularity is its backwards compatibility. Since USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, your existing USB 2.0 gear will work on USB 3.0 ports and vice versa. (Note: You will not be able to maximize your bandwidth ...

Start up IsoBuster, Insert a CD or DVD, select the drive (if not selected already) and let IsoBuster mount the media. IsoBuster immediately shows you all the tracks and sessions located on the media, combined with all file-systems that are present. This way you get easy access, just like explorer, to all the files and folders per file-system. Instead of being limited to one file-system that the OS picks for you, you have access to "the complete picture". Access data from older sessions, access data that your OS (eg Windows) does not see or hides from you etc. What's new in 3.0 I am glad to be able to announce the final 3.0 version release of an exciting new IsoBuster. Excited because this new version, besides optical media (CD, DVD and BD) now also supports Flash drives, Media cards of all sorts and makes, Jaz, Zip, Floppy drives, Hard Drives etc. To top it of, there is now also brand new NTFS support !
